Planted in 1886 by German immigrant Joseph Spenker, Bechthold Vineyard is the world’s oldest planting of Cinsault, a staggering 138 years old and a true California icon. These ungrafted, head-trained, dry-farmed vines grow in sandy loam soils, producing fruit that is delicate, perfumed, and remarkably smooth.
Farming is organic and regenerative, with no irrigation, allowing nature to dictate rhythm and strength. The result is wine that’s ethereal, textural, and timeless.
