The variety is French Colombard or West’s White Prolific – 61 vines are planted on St. George rootstock with no trellising and are head-trained and dry-farmed and still produce up to half-ton each year.
Betty Ann Vineyard, owned by Clark and Bonny Lystra is home to some of the oldest French Colombard vines in Sonoma County estimated to be planted around 1902. The vineyard is registered with the Historic Vineyard Society.
